A new, affordable, compact version of the devious collaboration between Eddie Rifkind Effects and AV Pedals.
Based on the mythical transparent overdrive that arguably was never transparent or an overdrive. This affordable version uses surface-mounted components for a more affordable pedal with incredible sound consistency from unit to unit. Designed and hand-assembled in San Francisco, CA using an innovative klone-like circuit designed by Adam Varady of AV Pedals in Austria.
This new version is true-bypass, lives in a compact 1590B enclosure with top-mounted audio and power jacks, and kicks all kind of arse.
Klaren Basic boasts an incredibly useable tone stack, with NO BAD SETTINGS. IS THAT CLEAR?!
Klaren Basic swaps the Klon’s simple gain stage for something similar to a hard clipping King of Tone... yet also uniquely Klaren.
Klaren Basic also ditches the merged drive and blend gain control for separate gain and clean (Klean™?) volume knobs so you can have it your way, kween!
Klaren Basic has an internal charge pump for up to 27V power.
